متن کاملSocial Embeddedness and Agent Development
Entities that are meaningfully described as artificial ‘agents’ may be used by humans for many different purposes. Some of these purposes can be grouped by the abstract goals they are designed to fulfil. Two such goals are: to construct systems that meet certain performance criteria in a reliable way, which I will call the ‘engineering’ perspective and to act as models of social agents so to in...
متن کاملCapturing Social Embeddedness: A Constructivist Approach
A constructivist approach is applied to characterising social embeddedness and to the design of a simulation of social agents which displays the social embedding of agents. Social embeddedness is defined as the extent to which modelling the behaviour of an agent requires the inclusion of the society of agents as a whole. Possible effects of social embedding and ways to check for it are discusse...

In post-conflict societies, low levels of social in...

This conceptual paper introduces the logic of embeddedness as a new theoretical angle to the IS planning stream of research. Taking two levels of analysis into account, we examine the impact of socially embedded ties on strategic interorganizational system (IOS) planning. We propose that from a dyad perspective, embedded ties facilitate the planning process, and can significantly increase the n...
